-How long have you been on L-Arginine?
Not much, I've been on it for a week. Didn't see any results, and I didn't want to try a lot of it because I am afraid of other deficiencies -What Dose? 3 Grams a day -Any changes in your body? Not really.... -Do you still have erection problems? Not with Cialis |

I think that 1 week is too short to expect clear results.
Using a normal dose of L-Arginine is probably safe and often used. |

Choline and Inositol | ||
|
Hewk and every one else here,
I read that Vitamin B-5 works very closely with Choline and Inositol. Also Choline and Inositol are very important for hair. Can Pantothenic Acid cause deficiency? I know my B-Complex contains them, but perhaps the dosages are too low? thanks! |

artlan, et al. saw palmetto? | ||
|
has anyone thought about taking a daily dose of saw palmetto to see if it helps with the hair situation? Since a few of our peers have seen a stop in hair loss with such DTH blockers as Proscar and Propecia, I think saw palmetto may be a safer, less risky alternative. Although it may take more time to take effect I think it could be a good next step for us. Let me know what you all think.

dpark419,
I am going to try Saw Palmetto tomorrow, I am going to buy it and see how it works if at all. To adam and 123, have you guys seen regrowth in your hair? Or did the hair just falling out? Thank you. |

Re: Saw Palmetto | ||

@Artlan
When you're going to use Saw Palmetto, use a Standardized 85%-95% one. Take something like 160mg to 320mg per day. Using it 1 week (as you did with L-arginine) is to short to expect results. Some people see results after 6 months using Saw Palmetto. |

B5 Hairloss | ||
|
I thought I posted this already, but I don't see it on here. So....I'm 20 yrs old. I took B5 for three months stopped for about a month then took it again for a month. I started losing hair when I started taking it. I have been off of B5 for about 4 months now and still losing hair. I'm thinking about taking L-arginine, but isn't 3 Grams a little too much? Who recommended this dosage? What are the side effects?

L-Arginine | ||
|
@Franchise,
I think around 3 grams is about normal for people with hairloss. I think between 1.5gr and 5gr. Some take more. The dose should be spread over the day, because it disappears quickly in the body. At least 2 times a day on a empty stomach. L-Arginine from the brand "Now Foods" is very cheap. For example from Vitaglo: store.yahoo.com/vitaglo/210.html store.yahoo.com/vitaglo/31.html www.1fast400.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=arginine Please let us know about your results of Arginine after you have used it for a few weeks. Thanks for the great research as always you are here to supply the scientific facts and research, thanks a lot bud @Franchise - What dosage of Vitamin B5 did you take? - Do you experience dandruff? Oily scalp? - Where does your hair loss mostly occurs? (Crown, Temples, Vertex)? Have you taken any other supplements? Thanks a lot |

I took 10 grams/day the whole time
Hair gets oily near end of the day, but no dandruff. Most hair thinning is Crown/Vertex, BUT I'm losing it on the sides, and the back of my neck at the bottom I don't really want to start taking any supp., I was hoping my body would balance out, but Like I said It's been 4 months and I'm still shedding. |

Same here....the hair gets oily towards the end of the day.
Franchise, did you consider seeing a dermatologist? Perhaps do a scalp biopsy. I am losing hair every where as well as you mentioned temples, back and crown, although it's getting pretty noticeable at the crown. Keep us updated please |

Hairloss. | ||

Couple of questions.
Pure, artlan, and others... i've read that you's are all trying different ways to treat your hair loss, are you still taking any B5 at all? I've been on B5 for nearly 5 months, sure, it has cleared up my skin probably over 90%, but i have noticed the hair starting to thin on the sides. Im thinking of taking in Arginine supplemnent, probably start next week if I can find some here in Aus. So yeh, just wondering if you guys still take any b5? I don't want my acne to come back... im always thinking to myself do i want acne, or no hair, its a really hard decision. |

I'm still taking B5, but a low dose. I'm taking 0.6gr and I use topical B5, which I working very good at the moment.
