Acne Scars-Best remedy? |
Lead | |
|
I have moderate acne, but for some reason, every new pimple that I get takes forever to heal. They are all starting to scar up now. I have a few red marks and blotches from acne remains. What is the best home remedy or treatment I can try to get rid of these? It seems like they just aren't going away with time. Are there any vitamins or supplements that will work?
Please help. Thanks! |

Try Neutrogena vitamin lotion
|
That helps fade away the red marks
But for scars you going to have to go to a cool laser treatment specialist |

i say shed your skin... | ||
|
I always find drying up my face to the point where it starts shedding to be the best solution for acne scars. I use a combination of a strong astringent and retina to accomplish this. Making your face flake/shed is disgusting and probably bad (might give u wrinkels) for your skin, but the scars seem to flake off too.

definely get urself some Aloe Vera 100% Gel, from Fruit of the Earth brand if possible. After using this stuff for like a week my scars become much less obvious, and certainly made the redness fade somewhat. I'm still using it now and my scars are nearly gone after 3 weeks!

i tried aloe vera... | ||

aloe vera actually made my scars stand out more than usual. It made my face more shiny (wet) therefore scars looked redder (and darker).

I've been using:
100% aloe vera gel (AMAZING if you use it consistantly) Retin-A Cream Sun screen with SPF60 (VERY important!) And I have only 2-3 visible redspots/scars, which used to be 20! |

Vitamin E | ||

I heard Vitamin E helps scars...is this true? I just bought some Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E oil but not sure if it works on acne scars.

Re: Vitamin E | ||

I tried Vitamin E a while ago. Before I started to see any result though, I stopped because I could not stand the greasiness and was scared that it would break me out.

be careful vitamin E can clog pores...unless it is used along with something else such as jojoba oil
i suggest you use st. ives apricot scrub for sensitive skin and follow up with vitamin A...just buy vitamin A capsules, pop one open and spread the oil over your face...it wont clog pores and your skin will be extremely smooth afterwards from both the scrub and the vitamin A you should see your marks clearing up very quickly and an overall nicer skintone |

I have moderate scarring and I've been thinking about using the Perfect Complexion TCA Complex. I've heard a lot of good stuff about it!

TCA complexion TCA peel
|
There was a big thread about this peel on acne.org scar forum. It all started very well, with people showing good results ... then all of a sudden people were reporting getting new scars from this ... also hyperpigmentation.
We questioned the owner - who sells on ebay by the name of Julie Robins - she says on there that she is a 'medical Aesthetician' .... Not only could we NOT find her salon or her license listed (and she won't reveal this info to us .... does she have something to hide?) AND at the same time it seems she has quoted different people with different amount of TCA in her product and also won't reveal the full ingredients .... |

If you are new to peeling, it's best to try lactic acid peels first - they are gentle and have no down time (so you can go out and about as normal).
Good places to purchase: www.makeupartistschoice.com (won't sell outside of the States) www.loganwoodskincare.com (do international shipping) ......... Something elase that people have reported that's good for red marks is Kinerase cream or lotion. Take a look on ebay, they sell samples. Or you could go to www.kinerase.com ......... When peeling and using exfoliation methods for healing of red marks, make sure you always wear sunscreen as all exfoliation makes you more photo sensitive. Further, red marks will become darker and thicker in the sun. So, no tanning!! |

Sorry | ||

Really Maya? I didn't know that. I had heard a lot of really good things about it but I guess the bad news hadn't filtered back to me. My apologies.

No problem! Just wanted to catch you and let you know b4 you went ahead with a purchase.
Not quite sure what the truth is, since the seller won't reveal the proper information. But it is better to play safe when it comes to TCA. |

beautyskin acne lamp | ||

Hi
I found that the only thing that w orked for me at getting rid of my acne and the scars was the Beautyskin acne lamp. My acne was gone in 3 months and the scarring reduced dramatically 6months. |

@beautyskin- red light does help treat acne scarring, but I'm not too sure it is that effective..

Scars take a while to heal, so don't burn them
|
I think one of the biggest mistakes today is the approach of using acids to "help" scars heal. Every scar takes one year to heal even if you do not
see it on the surface anymore. Applying Retin A, acids, benzoyl peroxide, etc will make it harder for your skin to heal the wound. I prefer stimulating your
skin's immune system to heal rather than suppressing it with the above ingredients. The inflamed acne lesion lasts about a week, the scars from them last a
lifetime so that should be the focus....along with addressing the source of the acne (toxins, yeast, hormone imbalances, poor elimination).
